    Product Description

Stanley Kubrick was one of the great filmmakers of our time and his profound influence on motion pictures continues to this day. His 1971 film, A Clockwork Orange, starring Malcolm McDowell, portrayed an oppressive lawless society where man was reduced to little more than a machine. This was a powerful film made by a director at the height of his artistry and its impact generated worldwide controversy. The Stanley Kubrick: Limited Edition Collection on Blu-ray is an unprecedented 7-film, 8-disc collection. The collection includes bonus content. Elegantly boxed in new book-style premium packaging the collection include a 36-page hard-cover book that explores the breadth of genres and themes in Kubrick's work. Titles Comprise: A Clockwork Orange: 40th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray Causing major controversy when first released, the film garnered four Academy Award nominations - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Screenplay - and is #4 on AFI's Top 10 List of Best Science Fiction films of All Time. Lolita: (1962) NEW ON BLU-RAY! Humbert, a divorced British professor of French literature, travels to small-town America for a teaching position. He allows himself to be swept into a relationship with Charlotte Haze, his widowed and sexually famished landlady, whom he marries in order that he might pursue the woman's 14-year-old flirtatious daughter, Lolita, with whom he has fallen hopelessly in love. 2001: A Space Odyssey: (1968) Stanley Kubrick's dazzling, Academy Award-winning achievement (Special Visual Effects) is an allegorical puzzle on the evolution of man and a compelling drama of man vs. machine. Featuring a stunning meld of music and motion, the film was also Oscar-nominated for Best Director, Art Direction and Writing. Kubrick (who co-wrote the screenplay with Arthur C. Clarke) first visits the prehistoric age-ancestry past, then leaps millennia (via one of the most mind-blowing jump cuts ever) into colonized space. Barry Lyndon: (1975) NEW ON BLU-RAY! Redmond Barry (Ryan O'Neal) is a young, roguish Irishman who's determined, in any way, to make a life for himself as a wealthy nobleman. Enlisting in the British Army and fighting in Europe's Seven Years War, Barry deserts, then joins the Prussian army, gets promoted to the rank of a spy, and becomes a pupil to a Chevalier and con artist/gambler. Barry then lies, dupes, duels and seduces his way up the social ladder, entering into a lustful but loveless marriage to a wealthy countess named Lady Lyndon. The Shining: (1980) From a script he co-adapted from the Stephen King novel, Kubrick melds vivid performances, menacing settings, dreamlike tracking shots and shock after shock into a milestone of the macabre. The Shining is the director's epic tale of a man in a snowbound hotel descending into murderous delusions. In a signature role, Jack Nicholson ("Heeeere's Johnny!") stars as Jack Torrance, who's come to the elegant, isolated Overlook Hotel as off-season caretaker with his wife (Shelley Duvall) and son (Danny Lloyd). Full Metal Jacket: (1987) A superb ensemble falls in for Stanley Kubrick's brilliant saga about the Vietnam War and the dehumanizing process that turns people into trained killers. The action is savage, the story unsparing, and the dialogue is spiked with scathing humour. Eyes Wide Shut: (1999) Kubrick's daring and controversial last film is a bracing psychosexual journey through a haunting dreamscape, a riveting suspense tale and a career milestone for stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Bonus Disc Jan Harland Documentaries: A Life in Pictures O Lucky Man Lost Kubrick: The Unfinished Films of Stanley Kubrick Interview Gallery Featuring Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman and Steven Spielberg Kubrick's 1998 Directors Guild of America D.W. Tom Holland stars as the eponymous superhero in this Marvel Comics sequel to 'Captain America: Civil War' (2016) that sees a young Peter Parker realise the full extent of his powers as Spider-Man. As a 15-year-old kid struggling with the everyday turmoil of being a teenager including school, homework and a crush on a girl who's out of his league, Peter also has to deal with the fact that he is Spider-Man and has the ability to change the world. When he meets with Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), a seasoned superhero who tries to pass on some words of wisdom, Peter is told that his priority should be working hard at school to get good grades, not donning his Spider-Man suit and fighting crime, but for Peter the urge to stop bad guys is just too overwhelming and he tries to find a way to do both. The cast also includes Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture, Michael Chernus as Phineas Mason aka Tinkerer and Marisa Tomei as Peter's Aunt May.

Free P&P with Prime / Free Prime Trial / Orders over £20

    Product Description

Every unforgettable exploit of world-renowned, globetrotting hero Indiana Jones is featured with pristine picture and sound in Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures. The cinematic classic that started it all--Raiders of the Lost Ark--has been meticulously restored under the supervision of director Steven Spielberg and sound designer Ben Burtt. Additionally, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade have both been remastered alongside 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull making this landmark release the first time all four films in the epic and award-winning franchise have been available together in sparkling high definition.

In addition to all of Indy’s thrilling adventures, the set includes seven hours of fascinating documentaries, featurettes and interviews with cast members and filmmakers. This comprehensive collection of behind-the-scenes bonus features is augmented by a brand new two-part documentary entitled “On Set with Raiders of the Lost Ark – From Jungle to Desert and From Adventure to Legend.” Featuring nearly an hour of rarely seen footage from the set of the film and archival interviews with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford, these captivating pieces transports fans back to where the legend began.

Raiders of the Lost Ark has been painstakingly restored with careful attention to preserving the original look, sound and feel of the iconic film. The original negative was scanned at 4K and then examined frame-by-frame so that any damage could be repaired. The sound design was similarly preserved using Burtt’s original master mix, which had been archived and unused since 1981. New stereo surrounds were created using the original music tracks and original effects recorded in stereo but used previously only in mono. In addition, the sub bass was redone entirely up to modern specifications and care was taken to improve dialogue and correct small technical flaws to create the most complete and highest quality version of the sound possible while retaining the director’s vision.

All five films from the horror franchise. In 'Exorcist' (1973) actress Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) has every reason to be content, having just completed a film with director Burke Dennings (Jack MacGowran). However, she becomes disturbed by the changes taking place in her 12-year-old daughter, Regan (Linda Blair). At first sullen and withdrawn, Regan becomes aggressive and blasphemous, and ugly welts appear on her face and body. No medical cure is forthcoming, and after Burke is killed by being thrown from Regan's window, Chris turns to local Jesuit priest Father Damien Karras (Jason Miller) for help. Karras then calls in exorcist Father Lankester Merrin (Max von Sydow), who confirms that Regan is possessed by the devil. In 'Exorcist 2 - The Heretic' (1977) Regan is now a relatively normal, happy teenager, living under the care of a psychiatrist (Louise Fletcher) and her mother's ex-secretary (Kitty Winn). When the demons return to haunt Regan, priest Father Lamont (Richard Burton), himself suffering a crisis of faith, is sent to investigate. In 'The Exorcist 3' (1990) 15 years have passed since Father Damien Karras died exorcising Regan MacNeil. Now his best friend Lt. Kinderman (George C. Scott) is troubled by a series of mysterious murders which are strangely reminiscent of those committed by the Gemini killer - who was executed on the night Karras died. Does the killer's spirit live on, and if so in whom? Kinderman's investigation leads him to an amnesiac in a mental hospital who has recently awoken from a 15-year coma, can describe the Gemini killings in detail, and bears an uncanny resemblance to Damien Karras... In 'Exorcist: The Beginning' (2004), set in Africa in 1949, Father Merrin (Stellan Skarsgård), his faith shattered by World War II, journeys to Kenya to join an archaeological dig that has uncovered a Byzantine church mysteriously untouched by the ravages of time. But an even greater mystery awaits: an ancient and horrific evil is now awakened and a soul-shattering death spree begins. Can Merrin summon the faith and courage to defeat humanity's oldest and most powerful foe? In 'Dominion - Prequel to the Exorcist' (2005), during an excavation in Africa, Father Merrin (Skarsgård)'s team finds a hidden church that contains an ancient evil, and a local boy begins to exhibit signs of demonic possession...

    Product Description

Unsurprising attracting awards attention, The Pacific is a ten-part series set in the midst of World War II, that follows the actions of three US Marines In the Pacific Theatre Of War. It’s a series not a million miles away from its spiritual predecessor, Band Of Brothers, which is understandable given the crossover of creative talent. Yet The Pacific is still a show with an identity of its own. It boasts the same sky-high production values of Band Of Brothers, but it also has a broader canvas, and a slightly slower pace to it. It’s absorbing drama, though, and the standard of it is kept high right throughout the ten-episode run. During that time, it takes in many key events of the time, and presents them with staggering confidence and strength. All of this, of course, makes you hope that the high definition transfer can do all of this justice. Fortunately, the news here is good. Few television shows have been treated to anywhere near the love that The Pacific has been in its 1080p transfer, and matched by surround sound work that’d put many blockbuster movies to shame, Is it Band Of Brothers 2? Absolutely not. Instead, The Pacific is a wonderful drama series in its own right, and one well worth picking up. --Jon Foster

    Resident Evil (2002)

A special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.

    Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)

After narrowly escaping the horrors of the underground Hive facility, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is quickly thrust back into a war raging above ground between the living and the Undead. As the city is locked down under quarantine, Alice joins a small band of elite soldiers, led by Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and Carlos (Oded Fehr), enlisted to rescue the missing daughter of Dr. Ashford, the creator of the mutating T-virus. It’s a heart-pounding race against time as the group faces off against hordes of bloodthirsty zombies, stealthy Lickers, mutant canines and the most sinister foe yet. Written and produced by the visionary director of Resident Evil, Paul W.S. Anderson and directed by Alexander Witt, Resident Evil: Apocalypse is a superior sci-fi suspense sequel.

    Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)

Milla Jovovich is back in the third chapter of the hugely successful Resident Evil franchise! This action-packed horror film is set in the Nevada desert and filled with intense special effects and more zombie terror! Las Vegas means fun in the sun. Well at least the sun is still there. Except for a few rusting landmarks, it looks pretty much like the rest of the desert - or the whole country, for that matter. The crowds are now flesh-eating zombies: the mass undead, the oozing, terrifying sludge of what remains. Here, the newly upgraded Alice, along with her crew (Oded Fehr, Mike Epps, Ali Larter, Ashanti) will make a final stand against evil - with one goal: to turn the undead dead again.

    Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

After a one-woman assault on the Umbrella Corporation's fortress, Alice's (Milla Jovovich) superhuman abilities are neutralised. Now, fleeing the Undead masses created by the T-virus, Alice reunites with Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) and her brother, Chris (Wentworth Miller). Together they take refuge with other survivors in an abandoned prison, where a savage zombie mob stands between them and the safety of "Arcadia." Escaping these bloodthirsty mutants will take an arsenal. But facing off with Albert Wesker and the Umbrella Corporation will take the fight for survival to a new level of danger.

    Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)

The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus is spreading across the globe, transforming ordinary people into legions of zombies. Headed for extinction, the human race has just one hope: Alice (Milla Jovovich). She’s on a mission, fighting her way through cities and across continents, all inside Umbrella's prime research facility. Old friends become new enemies as she battles to escape and discovers that everything that she believes may not even be true.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2017)

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began - Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between regaining her superhuman abilities at Wesker's hand and Umbrella's impending attack, this will be Alice's most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which

Peter first attempts to make use of these skills to impress the girl next door Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), but after his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) is killed in an armed robbery, he is compelled to work for the greater good and reinvents himself as Spider-Man, the enemy of criminals everywhere. Meanwhile, arms manufacturer Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) transforms himself into the Green Goblin, begins to terrorise the city, and lays down the gauntlet to Spider-Man by abducting his beloved Mary Jane. 'Spider-Man 2' (2004) picks up the story two years on as the superhero struggles to keep his normal life as Peter Parker and his secret life as Spider-Man separate. When his love Mary Jane announces her engagement to another man, Spider-Man temporarily loses his powers as his emotions take over his body. After his best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) takes a job working for scientist Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), Peter discovers Octavius' plans to transform himself into a supervillain and take over the world. Can Spider-Man get his powers back in time to save the world? In 'Spider-Man 3' (2007), Peter's former friend Harry takes over his father's duties as the Green Goblin and sets his sights on revenge against the crime-fighting Spider-Man. Meanwhile, Flint Marko (Thomas Haden Church), the man who killed Peter's Uncle Ben, has been transformed into the shape-shifting Sandman and becomes another evil for Spider-Man to overcome. 'The Amazing Spider-Man' (2012) sees Andrew Garfield take on the role of the superhero. When Peter Parker was abandoned by his parents as a young boy, he was left to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Always wondering about the circumstances that surrounded his parents' departure, Peter goes on a quest to find some answers. In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' (2014), Spider-Man's work-life balance is holding up extremely well as he spends his days as Peter Parker with his girlfriend Gwen (Emma Stone) and his nights leaping between New York's skyscrapers making the city a safer place. However, the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), a figure with electromagnetic powers, poses Spider-Man's biggest challenge to date.

    10,000 BC
    Format: Blu-ray

To anyone who has ever yearned to see woolly mammoths in full stampede across the Alps, 10,000 BC can be heartily recommended. There's also a flock of "terror birds" (lethal ostriches on steroids) in a steaming jungle only a splice away from the heroes' snow-dusted alpine habitat. And lo, somewhere in the vastness of the North African desert lies a city whose slave inhabitants alternately teem like the crowds in Quo Vadis during the burning of Rome and trudge in hieratically menacing formations like the workers in Metropolis. That's pretty much it for the cool stuff. Setting movies in prehistoric times is dicey. Apart from the "Dawn of Man" sequence in 2001: A Space Odyssey, only Quest for Fire makes the grade, and its creators had the good sense to limit the dialogue to grunts and moans. 10,000 BC boasts a quasi-biblical narrator (Omar Sharif) and characters who speak in formed, albeit uninteresting, sentences (including a New Age–y "I understand your pain"). But let no one say the storytelling isn't primitive. The narrator speaks of "the legend of the child with the blue eyes" and bingo, here's the kid now. When, grown up to be Camilla Belle, she's carried off by "four-legged demons" (guys on horseback to you). The neighbour boy (Steven Strait) who hankers to make myth with her leads a rescue mission into the great unknown world beyond their mountaintop. His name is D'Leh, which is Held, the German for "knight," spelled backward. So yes, there is some hidden meaning after all. 10,000 BC is the latest triumph of the ersatz from writer-director Roland Emmerich. Like Stargate (1994), Independence Day (1996), and The Day After Tomorrow (2004) before it, it's shamelessly cobbled together out of every movie Emmerich can remember to pilfer from (though to be fair, the section in pre-ancient Egypt harks back to his own Stargate). Emmerich's saving grace is that his films' cheesiness is so flagrant, his narratives so geared for instant gratification, he can seem like a kid simultaneously improvising and acting out a story in his backyard: "P'tend there's this alien ... p'tend maybe he came from Atlantis or something...." Just don't p'tend it has anything to do with real movie-making. --Richard T. Jameson

But when a band of mysterious warlords raid his village and kidnap Evolet, D'Leh leads a small group of hunters to pursue the warlords to the end of the world to save her. As they venture into unknown lands for the first time, the group discovers there are civilizations beyond their own and that mankind's reach is far greater than they ever knew. At each encounter the group is joined by other tribes who have been attacked by the slave raiders, turning D'Leh's once-small band into an army.   Languages: English, French, Spanish Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Approx Run Time 109Mins
